Gunnersbury Station

At the request of Network Rail, a comprehensive station capacity assessment of the station at Gunnersbury in west London was undertaken to determine the adequacy of the improvement scheme developed as part of Chiswick Park.
The study examined current and future conditions for both everyday and emergency operations through the application of Network Rail’s “Station Capacity Assessment Guidance” and London Underground’s “Station Planning Standards and Guidelines”.
In addition a dynamic spreadsheet model was developed to test the interaction between station elements and their response to increasing train loads in the future.
