Liverpool University
The University of Liverpool commissioned a masterplan framework from
iCube Ltd (the last being the 'Holford Plan') for its campus in order
to identify how best to continue its physical redevelopment in a
'coherent and attractive way'.
The Framework provided the guiding structure, much as the original
Holford Plan did in 1949, and was fully consistent with the
University's Corporate Plan, based on quality urban design principles
that to inform the University's future investment decisions.
This framework was a result of a review and analysis of the Precinct,
adjoining city wide initiatives, past and current plans for the
Precinct, workshops and interviews across campus.
It also benefited from an international review of campus design and
the fact that the University acknowledged that the output to the study
enabled greater flexibility and strategic guidance for future growth
of the Precinct.
iCube continues to offer advice and support to the University Estates
Department ensuring that future development are compliant and guided
by the Framework.
